With Tel Design’s staff having an average of 15 years experience in the
telecommunications industry, it’s no wonder they continue to thrive in this arena.
Tel Design is a provider of business telephone systems, voicemail / voice
processing equipment, wiring for voice and data systems as well as myriad
peripheral software related to telecommunications.
“GPPCS” is the Greater Phoenix Purchasing Consortium of Schools. Forty districts
throughout the Phoenix area comprise this group currently. The main goal of the
consortium is to develop cooperative contracts for standardized products and
services. The benefit of multiple districts is the savings in money and time, which
allows them to stretch scarce budget dollars.
The consortium was first established several years ago and was known as the East
Valley Purchasing Consortium (EVPC). In 1998, a school in the west valley
requested that their district and those around it be allowed to garner the benefits of
membership in the consortium. It was then that the EVPC became the GPPCS.
“S A V E” is the Strategic Alliance of Volume Expenditures. This is a statewide
cooperative alliance that allows government entities as well as schools to have
increased purchasing power for standardized products such as telephone
equipment, installation and maintenance. Maricopa, Mohave, Pinal, Santa Cruz and
Yuma County are all members of SAVE along with the cities of Avondale,
Chandler, Glendale, Mesa, Peoria, Scottsdale, Tempe, Gilbert and Cave Creek.
Other members include Arizona State University, Maricopa Community College,
and Williams Gateway Airport Authority.
The State of Arizona has also recently signed this agreement making stat agencies
eligible to purchase Tel Design products and services at contract rates.
